  "abstract": "A new histerid genus Aethesoma gen. nov., with a new species Aethesoma prosternistriatum gen. et sp. nov. (Histeridae, Histerinae, Platysomatini) is described. The new species is most likely a subcortical dendrobiont distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Jiangxi provinces of southern China and was collected by flight-interception traps. Aethesoma is morphologically distinct from all other known genera of Platysomatini. A key to Chinese Platysomatini is provided.",
