  "abstract": "The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is the leading intraseasonal driver of tropical weather, comparable to the interannual \"El Niño/La Niña\", yet remains largely unfamiliar outside the scientific community. The MJO is atmospherically like a \"La Niña\" going around the earth, and metaphorically as \"La Ola\", Spanish for \"The Wave\", evoking a stadium wave. Thus a pedagogical nickname such as \"La Ola-MJO\" could enhance forecast uptake, especially among climate-vulnerable communities.",
