"abstract": "Charge transport in organic mixed ionic and electronic conductors (OMIECs) is the most basic phenomenon that governs device performance. Due to the material complexity, decoupling ionic from electronic transport is challenging: both measurements and models remain unsatisfactory. Here, we demonstrate that transport of both species in specially designed structures can be described using a unified drift-diffusion model and equivalent circuit. Under these transport-limited conditions, we leverage distinct diffusion features emerging in electrochemical impedance spectra to extract both cation and hole mobilities in PEDOT:PSS on a microfabricated chip. Ultimately, this framework provides a fundamental theoretical model and a robust, single-chip platform to decouple and quantify the transport properties of both ionic and electronic species. This platform offers an immediate opportunity to study structure-property relationships in the context of ionic and electronic transport, guiding the rational synthetic design and predictive discovery of next-generation OMIEC materials and devices.",
