"abstract": "Evidence from anatomical studies shows that the femoral origin of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) is situated distal to the epiphyseal line in children. This case report describes a 9-year-old girl who underwent reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) following an initial patellar dislocation. Due to her open growth plates, the MPFL graft was fixed proximal to the epiphyseal line using bone tunnel fixation. Due to ongoing femoral growth, the femoral tunnel migrated significantly in a proximal direction over the four years following surgery, leading to graft failure and the onset of habitual patellar dislocation.",
