  "abstract": "The aim of this study was to determine the apparent prevalence and evaluate the effectiveness of post-mortem tuberculosis diagnosis at the Korhogo slaughterhouse. To this end, 600 bovine carcasses underwent post-mortem inspection. A prescapular lymph node was removed from each carcass, and any lesions suspected of being tuberculous were examined. These samples were then subjected to the Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) staining test. Following the analyses, the apparent prevalence of tuberculosis was estimated at 2.7%, and the lungs (62.5%) were the most frequently identified organs suspected of having tuberculosis. Furthermore, this test revealed that the sanitary inspection carried out at the Korhogo slaughterhouse had a sensitivity of 5.56% and a specificity of 98.57%, respectively. However, the diagnostic efficiency was only 0.70, a moderate level of performance. This preliminary study highlighted the moderate effectiveness of sanitary inspection in the post-mortem diagnosis of tuberculosis and the need to strengthen sanitary control in this slaughterhouse.",
