"abstract": "Background: Rice (Oryza sativa) is a staple food and perceived as relatively hypoallergenic. However, rice has been implicated in food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome, IgE-mediated allergy, sensitization, anaphylaxis, and product-related allergenicity. Objective: This study mapped global publication trends charted evidence themes in rice allergen research, with emphasis on allergenic proteins, IgE reactivity, analytical detection, food safety, processing-related allergenicity, and hypoallergenic rice or rice-based product development. Methods: Bibliometric analysis was combined with a systematic scoping review and evidence mapping. Scopus and PubMed/MEDLINE were searched without language or lower publication-year restrictions for original research published through 2025. All eligible records from both databases contributed to the systematic scoping review, while eligible Scopus-indexed records formed the bibliometric subset. Bibliometrix and VOSviewer were used for bibliometric and network analyses, while evidence was charted using a PCC and PRISMA-ScR-informed framework. Results: Of 1,405 records identified, 927 unique records entered screening and 363 original studies were included in the systematic scoping review; 351 Scopus-indexed studies formed the bibliometric subset. The bibliometric subset spanned 1969–2025 and 193 harmonized journal sources. Evidence was mapped to five non-exclusive domains: clinical phenotypes (T1), rice allergenic proteins and molecular characterization (T2), immune reactivity and cross-reactivity (T3), analytical/diagnostic/safety-assessment methods (T4), and translational products or processing approaches (T5). Conclusion: Rice allergen research spans multiple but incompletely integrated evidence domains. Future studies should connect clinical phenotypes, validated allergenic proteins, food matrices, processing conditions, patient sera, analytical platforms, and real-world rice products to support safer rice-based food development.",
