"abstract": "We study a one-dimensional Fučik-type boundary value problem (BVP) driven by the nonhomogeneous, one-dimensional $(p,q)$-Laplacian, \\[ -\\left(|u'|^{p-2}u' + |u'|^{q-2}u'\\right)' = λ(u^+)^{p-1} - μ(u^-)^{q-1}, \\qquad u(0)=u(L)=0, \\qquad L>0, \\] where $1<q<p$ and $λ,μ\\in\\mathbb{R}$. The problem is asymmetric: the positive component is paired with the $p$-power and the negative component with the $q$-power. This asymmetry prevents the standard homogeneous $p$-Laplacian scaling argument from producing explicit Fučik curves. We first prove a quadrant reduction theorem. Any positive nodal interval for a solution forces $λ>0$, and any negative nodal interval forces $μ>0$. Hence, all sign-changing solutions occur for values of $(λ,μ)$ in the positive quadrant. Outside the positive quadrant, only one-sign solutions can occur. We also formulate the equation as an autonomous planar system and establish existence and uniqueness for its initial value problem in the positive quadrant. We then impose the second Dirichlet condition through a shooting formulation and show that every zero of a nontrivial Dirichlet solution is simple and isolated. This provides the dynamical foundation for the subsequent construction and gluing of nodal humps of solutions. Inside the positive quadrant, we use a classical one-dimensional time-map method to obtain a projected-geometry description of the spectrum, or the set of values of $(λ, μ)$ for which there exist nontrivial solutions. Every nodal solution has a common energy $E>0$ shared by all positive and negative humps.",
