Lifting τ-exceptional sequences

Abstract

We study the behaviour of τ-exceptional sequences under passage from a finite-dimensional algebra Λ to a factor algebra Λ/I. Assuming that Λ is τ-tilting finite and that I⊆ radΛ, we construct, for every r less than or equal to the number of simple Λ-modules, an injective map from the τ-exceptional sequences of length r over Λ/I to those over Λ. The construction is recursive and is based on lifting indecomposable τ-rigid modules and comparing their associated τ-perpendicular categories. At each stage, we construct a right exact functor between the relevant τ-perpendicular categories which, after identifying them with module categories, is naturally isomorphic to extension of scalars along a quotient Γ→Γ/J, where J⊆ radΓ. These functors send each lifted term to an object in the additive closure of the corresponding original term. Finally, we conjecture connections with known bijections for representations of quivers over local algebras and for Nakayama algebras.
