Construction of a core⁃competency model for top⁃tier TCM nursing talents based on epistemological characteristics of syndrome⁃differentiation⁃based nursing

Abstract

It proposed a three⁃dimensional core competency model for top⁃tier TCM nursing professionals:1) syndrome differentiation practice competency, defined as the decision⁃making capacity to independently ascertain pathogenesis in complex clinical contexts;2) integrated communication competency, referring to the ability to conduct cultural translation across disparate health cognitive systems; and 3) evidence⁃based innovation competency, which entails the capability to translate empirical knowledge into standardized disciplinary knowledge.Integrating the traditional TCM apprenticeship model with modern professional development theories, this paper further delineated a three⁃stage progression framework,"qualified practitioner, proficient collaborator, and distinguished leader",arguing that the attainment of professional excellence represents a qualitative transformation in clinical judgment rather than a linear accumulation of operational skills.Consequently, talent cultivation programs should shift from a discipline⁃based paradigm to a task⁃driven approach centered on clinical syndrome differentiation.Reconstructing the pedagogical and evaluation mechanisms accordingly will provide a theoretical foundation for establishing the professional independence and localized training of TCM nursing.
