Stellar proper motions compared with the plane-of-sky magnetic field
Abstract
6 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables. Separates the motions superposed in a young star's proper motion, solar reflex, Galactic rotation, the cloud's own space velocity, subgroup motion and internal flow, and asks which of them a field-alignment statistic actually measures. v4: adds a frame-independent bound on the alignment amplitude; adds an independent check of the bulk motion left by the LSR frame against Kounkel et al. (2022) for Orion A North; corrects one reference; journal-neutral formatting.
