Abstract
It remains a challenge to develop an ultrastable and single-crystalline photocatalyst with smart structural flexibility for the efficient capture and conversion of carbon dioxide. Herein, we report the reticular synthesis of a single-crystalline pyrazolate-based MOF (Pz-MOF)Zn-TPPexhibiting exceptional stability and stimuli-responsive structural dynamicsby the assembly of photosensitizing pyrene-based tetrapyrazolate linkers and zinc ions. Zn-TPP retains its crystallinity and porosity after high-temperature treatment over 400 °C or after immersion in basic aqueous conditions (5 M NaOH). The reversible dynamic behavior of Zn-TPP was unambiguously observed by single-crystal-to-single-crystal transition experiments. Thanks to the integration of photosensitizing pyrene units into this ultrastable and flexible porous platform, Zn-TPP displays efficient CO2 capture performance and is a reusable efficient photocatalyst for the reduction of CO2.
