Phase transitions of a cubic Casimir matrix model on the fuzzy sphere
Abstract
In this work, we analyse the phase transitions of a higher derivative matrix model on the fuzzy space, where the kinetic term is a cubic polynomial on the Casimir invariant. The phase transitions of the model are determined numerically and the presence of a triple point is exhibited. The associated critical values of the coupling parameters are calculated numerically and compared with the linear and quadratic Casimir models, showing that the cubic Casimir kinetic term helps to reduce the UV/IR mixing in these models.
