On the torsion in the Chow motive of an Enriques surface

Abstract

The integral Chow motive of an Enriques surface S is determined by a torsion summand t(S), which contributes the torsion in the cohomology of S. We study isomorphisms between and endomorphisms of motives of the form t(S). This is closely related to the integral Hodge conjecture for products of two Enriques surfaces.
