Spectra and strong decays of open charm-bottom cb̅qq̅ tetraquarks in an unequal-mass Born-Oppenheimer framework

Abstract

We investigate the mass spectra and strong decay channels of S-wave open charm-bottom cb̅qq̅ (q = u,d,s) tetraquarks within the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. Extending our previous study of hidden heavy flavor tetraquarks, we account for the unequal-mass heavy quark sources and construct the effective potential based on independently optimized heavy-light orbitals. This makes the computational method more generally applicable. For the quantum numbers JP=0+, 1+, and 2+, we have obtained the spectra of the open charm-bottom cb̅qq̅ tetraquarks corresponding to color-singlet states constructed by coupling two color octets. The predicted masses exhibit systematic flavor-dependent shifts and characteristic hyperfine splittings. We also estimate partial widths for selected two-body open flavor decay channels using color-spin recoupling and a phenomenological decay prescription. The resulting channel-dependent decay modes, together with comparisons to other theoretical predictions, provide useful benchmarks for future theoretical investigations and experimental searches for open charm-bottom tetraquarks.
