Abstract

Stem cell‐based embryo models now reconstruct increasingly advanced stages of mammalian development, but developmental fidelity remains a central limitation. This review examines why cynomolgus monkey systems are biologically necessary, how natural embryos and emerging technologies benchmark primate development, and how advanced monkey embryoids can strengthen interpretation of human embryo models.
