Observational properties of magnetized quantum Oppenheimer-Snyder black holes

Abstract

We consider a thin accretion disk around the quantum Oppenheimer-Snyder black hole immersed in an asymptotically uniform magnetic field, together with the gravitational capture of test particles by the black hole. The field is described as a Wald test field and acts only on the weakly charged matter of the disk. We find that the quantum correction affects the disk only slightly, while the magnetic coupling strongly increases its radiative efficiency and luminosity and suppresses the Doppler blue peak of the iron Kα line, which becomes a single peak below the rest frame energy. On the other hand, the quantum correction reduces all capture cross sections, while the magnetic field does not affect the capture of photons and confines charged particles to a finite region. Therefore, in principle, the two effects may be distinguished by combining spectral and shadow observations.
