Supramolecular Metallohydrogels of Fe(III) and Zn(II) with 3-Aminopropan-1-ol as Low Molecular Weight Hydrogelator: Unveiling Self-healing activity, rheological dynamics, and stimuli-sensitivity

Abstract

Two different metallohydrogels of Fe(III) and Zn(II) have been synthesized through the use of low molecular gelator and water as a polar protic fluid medium, encapsulated in distinct metallohydrogel networks. 3-Aminopropan-1-ol is executed as the potential LMWG for achieving non-covalent interaction-guided supramolecular soft -flexible scaffold formation. The mechanical stability and the flexible-features of different metallohydrgel have been explored through exhaustive rheological experimental studies covering shear strain sweep studies, angular frequency sweep investigations, and time sweep based experiments. The rheo-reversible dynamics of both metallohydrogels are examined through current attempts. The self-healing features of different metallohydrogels have been explored. The expression of distinct metallohydrogels under the impacts of diverse externally added stimuli has been thoroughly explored through the work. In a comparative vision the mechanical stability and stimuli effects, the Zn(II) metallohydrogel showed more predominant effect.
