Imaging and Histopathologic Features of Incidentally Detected Hepatic Perivascular Epithelioid Cell Tumors: A Case Report.

Abstract

Hepatic perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) are rare mesenchymal neoplasms. The limited number of reported cases, along with nonspecific clinical symptoms and laboratory findings, often complicates accurate preoperative diagnosis. Here, we present a case of hepatic PEComa incidentally detected in a 64-year-old woman without underlying liver disease. We describe the clinical presentation, laboratory findings, CT and MRI features, and histopathological characteristics confirmed after surgical resection that may facilitate the diagnosis of hepatic PEComa.
