Ab initio-guided optical potentials for semi-magic nuclei from Gorkov self-consistent Green's functions

Abstract

We construct ab initio-guided nonlocal optical potentials for semi-magic nuclei from the self-consistent Gorkov-ADC(2) one-body Green's function. This extends ab initio self-consistent Green's function approaches to open-shell targets and to proton projectiles. The starting point is the NNLOsat chiral interaction, whose three-nucleon component is included as an effective two-body interaction. The self-energy is computed in a harmonic-oscillator basis, transformed to coordinate space and used in the scattering code SIDES. Its imaginary part relies on a phenomenological energy-dependent width, hence the label ab initio-guided. Differential and integral (total and reaction) cross sections are compared with data for n,p+40Ca and p+42Ca. Forward angles are well reproduced. Backward angles reveal a lack of absorption, which calls for larger model spaces and many-body truncations beyond Gorkov-ADC(2).
