A Separated Bump Theorem in L2
Abstract
We prove a separated entropy bump theorem for two-weight L2 inequalities for positive operators defined by Carleson sequences on a probability space with a general filtration. The bump conditions use conditional averages of martingale maximal functions and involve the first power of the entropy penalty, removing the square appearing in the separated condition of Treil and Volberg. As a consequence, we obtain separated Orlicz bump estimates for a class of doubling Young functions. These results apply, in particular, to sparse operators. The proof uses principal sequences, a natural global extension of principal sets, and combines a good-λ estimate with a weighted Carleson embedding to obtain the required testing inequalities.
