Gravitational Dark Matter Production in Einstein-Cartan Theory
Abstract
Introducing torsion into General Relativity leads to new four-point interactions for fermions. These are universal and must also affect any fermion dark matter. We improve existing calculations of dark matter production through the Einstein-Cartan theory four-fermion interaction by also considering the s-channel graviton exchange as another contributing process. The effect on both the total cross section as well as the momentum-dependent Boltzmann equation collision term is calculated and discussed. We also introduce the Holst term, which generally modifies the four-fermion interaction coupling constant as well as introduces two new four-fermion interactions, and discuss and compute its effect on the total produced dark matter abundance.
