Scalar radiation from circular orbits in D3 brane spacetimes: a Mano-Suzuki-Takasugi-like approach
Abstract
We study scalar perturbations in a ten-dimensional D3 brane spacetime, developing a (higher-dimensional) Mano-Suzuki-Takasugi-like formalism adapted to the present case leading to a sourced modification of a Mathieu equation. As an application, we compute the energy loss both at infinity and at the horizon in terms of scalar waves due to a scalar charge moving along a circular "equatorial" geodesic.
