Abstract
A new species of Diploderma is described from the valley of a tributary of the Nujiang River in eastern Xizang, China, based on morphological and genetic data. The new species is morphologically most similar and phylogenetically closely related to D. laeviventre and D. yangi, but it can be distinguished from the latter two species by having a differently colored gular spot in both sexes and by several morphometric differences. This study brings the total number of species within the genus Diploderma to 51, of which four inhabit the Nujiang River system.
