Initial heat-current decay versus thermal transport at a three-body resonance in a one-dimensional Fermi gas

Abstract

We theoretically study kinetic relaxation and heat transport in a dilute one-dimensional spinless Fermi gas near a three-body resonance. The full vacuum amplitude of a finite-range interaction enters the linearized Boltzmann collision operator. The resonance position that maximizes the initial heat-current decay rate lies above the one that minimizes the integrated relaxation time. At higher resonance energies, coupling among momentum moments transfers heat-current weight to a slow mode. A faster initial decay can therefore coexist with slower subsequent relaxation and a larger low-frequency heat response. The dissipative responses at two resonance positions reverse their ordering at least twice as frequency increases. Bounds on the full collision operator confirm both reversals. A fourth-moment distortion exhibits the same separation of relaxation scales and provides a probe through the momentum distribution.
