Cavity Loss in QED Coupled-Cluster Theory: Polariton Linewidths, Driven Steady States, and the Rabi Splitting
Abstract
Molecular polariton experiments are performed in lossy cavities, whereas correlated ab initio polariton theory has been developed almost entirely for lossless cavities. In this work, cavity loss is added to real-time QED coupled-cluster theory (QED-CCSD-22) through a complex cavity frequency, which gives the non-Hermitian no-jump part of the Lindblad master equation. The resulting polariton linewidths and driven-dissipative steady states are, to our knowledge, the first from QED coupled-cluster theory. The linewidths obtained from the complex Jacobian and from real-time propagation agree and are partitioned by the biorthogonal photon numbers of the two polaritons. A closed-form continuous-wave drive of the cavity gives driven steady states and their lineshapes.
