Abstract

SGGT G4 Detection 2 ABSTRACT. We report the design, realization, and testing of a Solution-Gated Graphene Transistor Sensor aimed at detecting and quantifying guanine quadruplexes. By using all-atom molecular dynamic simulations complemented with free energy methods we rationally design the architecture of the sensors, exploiting an economic and easy-available G4 ligand. The prototype of the sensor has shown the capacity to provide a linear response depending on the G4 concentration, hence showing the proof of concept of its applicability for G4 detection. The proposed sensors may allow the rapid detection of guanine quadruplexes in complex matrices, without relying on the use of antibodies or complex experimental apparatus.
