Models of n-dimensional categories as n→∞

Abstract

We verify that saturated complicial sets model the right limit of the ∞-categories of (∞,n)-categories, whereas the canonical comparison with the left limit is not an equivalence. By contrast the category of strict ω-categories is equivalent to both the right and left limits of the categories of strict n-categories.
