Stability Criterion for the Multiresource Job Queue
- 1Institute of Applied Mathematical Research of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract
The homogeneous multiresource job queue is considered. Such a system contains resources of several types, e.g., servers, disk space, memory etc. Each customer seizes a random block of resources (i.e. several units of each of the resources) simultaneously. Service time is independent of the size of the block and exponentially distributed. These resources are released simultaneously at the end of the customer’s service. Explicit stability criterion is derived, which generalizes the similar result for the multiserver job model.
