Abstract
Accurate data on microsatellite instability (MSI) in second primary colorectal cancer (CRC) are needed for precision oncology and guideline development. This study includes structured clinicopathological records from 77 cancer survivors diagnosed with second primary CRC. Variables encompass demographics, prior malignancy and treatment history, tumor location, histology, MSI status assessed via immunohistochemistry and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and timing between malignancies. Data were systematically extracted following clear inclusion and exclusion criteria, with standardized definitions and quality checks. MSI status was determined using staining for four mismatch repair proteins, with PCR confirmation for equivocal results. The dataset’s structure ensures accessibility, interoperability, and reproducibility. It enables analyses of MSI prevalence, anatomical predictors, and clinical associations in second primary CRC, supporting secondary research on risk factors, biomarker correlates, and population-level outcomes.
