Abstract
Cerebrocardiac syndrome(CCS),also known as stroke-heart syndrome,is a complex clinical syndrome defined by the pathophysiological interactions between cerebral disorders and cardiac function. In recent years,in-depth investigations into CCS mechanisms have identified novel pathophysiological pathways, including the gut microbiota-brain-heart axis, neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)and abnormal mitophagy, providing new insights for the clinical management of CCS. The diagnosis of CCS remains challenging in clinical practice:neurological symptoms frequently overshadow cardiac abnormalities, specific diagnostic biomarkers are lacking, and pre-existing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular comorbidities further complicate differential diagnosis. In addition, clinical understanding of CCS mechanisms is still insufficient, unified diagnostic criteria have not been established, and therapeutic options remain relatively limited. This article presents a systematic review of research advances in CCS,covering its pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic strategies and therapeutic modalities.
