A New Bivariate Excess Wealth Transform Based on Conditional Random Variables
Abstract
In this study, we introduce a new Bivariate Excess Wealth Transform (BEWT) to study excess wealth characteristics in bivariate settings. The proposed transform is constructed using conditional quantile functions and their corresponding conditional quantile densities. We establish fundamental properties of the proposed transform and derive some characteristic relationship for some well known bivariate lifetime models. Nonparametric weighted empirical estimation of BEWT has been proposed; theoretical and numerical validation of the method has also been considered in the study, along with a real data analysis based on the Eurosystem Household Finance and Consumption Survey.
