[Prognostic Models and Clinical Translation Prospects of Lung Cancer Based on Novel Cell Death Modes].

  1. 1Shandong Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Yantai 264003, China.

Abstract

As one of the malignant tumors with high incidence and mortality worldwide, lung cancer features high heterogeneity and therapeutic resistance, which severely impair the prognosis of patients with lung cancer. In recent years, novel cell death modes such as ferroptosis, cuproptosis, disulfidptosis and necrosis by sodium overload have become research hotspots in oncology. Focusing on these four forms of cell death, this review systematically clarifies their roles in lung cancer initiation and progression, regulation of the tumor microenvironment, and therapeutic resistance; summarizes related prognostic biomarkers and representative prognostic models; and discusses the crosstalk among multiple cell death pathways and advances in clinical translation. This review aims to provide a reference for improving prognostic assessment in lung cancer, elucidating mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, and developing novel antitumor strategies.
