Abstract
Pharmacological activation of Piezo1 by Yoda1 suppresses mechanosensitive urothelial ATP release through Ca 2+ -dependent connexin hemichannel closure and Ca 2+ -independent mechanisms. In BOO rats, intravesical Yoda1 reduces elevated ATP levels and attenuates bladder overactivity without impairing voiding function, identifying Piezo1 as a novel therapeutic target for BOO-induced lower urinary tract dysfunction.
