Abstract

We report a mechanochemical copper-catalyzed defluorosilylation of α-trifluoromethyl styrenes with silylboranes. Mechanical activation dramatically accelerated the C–F bond transformation, reducing the reaction time from 8 h to only 30 min at room temperature while substantially decreasing solvent consumption. The reaction exhibits broad substrate compatibility and scalability, highlighting mechanochemistry as an effective strategy for accelerating selective C–F bond functionalization.
